The Hexing CIU EV500 PLC Customer Interface Unit is a customer keypad and display accessory used in compatible split prepaid electricity metering environments.
This device is not the main electricity meter. It works with a compatible metering unit and communicates by PLC for energy consumption monitoring and prepaid credit charging. The CIU allows the customer to enter prepaid electricity tokens, view balance and meter information, and interact with the prepaid meter from a convenient location inside the premises.
The CIU EV500 is suitable for split prepaid electricity installations in residential units, rental properties, flats, cottages, estates, complexes and light commercial premises where the main meter is installed separately and the customer interface must remain accessible to the end user.
It includes a large digit LCD display, a simple 3 x 4 keypad, PLC communication, balance display configuration, rechargeable operation when disconnected and optional LCD backlighting for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
The CIU EV500 is best positioned as an accessory for compatible Hexing split prepaid meters and should be supplied or quoted together with the correct metering unit where required.
