1. Introduction
This Delivery Policy explains how delivery, collection and project supply arrangements are handled for products supplied through the EDM Solutions Product Catalogue and quotation-based shop.
Because EDM Solutions supplies metering products, prepaid water meters, prepaid electricity meters, smart meters, accessories, vending-related equipment and project-based solutions, delivery arrangements may depend on stock availability, order quantity, courier requirements, installation scheduling, configuration status and the approved quotation.
2. Quotation-Based Delivery
Delivery is confirmed as part of the formal quotation process.
Any delivery cost displayed or discussed before a formal quotation is issued may be indicative only. Final delivery costs may depend on the delivery address, product size, order quantity, courier charges, insurance requirements, supplier location, special handling and project requirements.
3. Delivery Areas
EDM Solutions currently operates within South Africa.
Delivery and support arrangements are based on the confirmed quotation, product availability, courier coverage and project scope.
Installation-related delivery may be limited to areas where EDM Solutions or approved installation teams are available.
4. Delivery Charges
Delivery charges may be quoted separately unless clearly included in the formal quotation.
Delivery charges may include courier fees, handling costs, packaging, supplier dispatch costs, insurance where applicable and project logistics costs.
If delivery costs change due to address changes, quantity changes, supplier changes or courier requirements, EDM Solutions may revise the delivery charge before final dispatch.
5. Lead Times
Delivery lead times depend on
- Stock availability;
- Supplier availability;
- Payment confirmation;
- Product configuration;
- Meter registration or vending setup;
- Courier collection and transit times;
- Installation scheduling where applicable;
- Project phasing or site requirements.
Any lead time given before final order confirmation is an estimate only.
6. Stock and Supplier Delays
Some products may need to be ordered from suppliers or prepared for a specific customer or project.
EDM Solutions will make reasonable efforts to communicate stock delays or supplier delays, but will not be responsible for delays outside its direct control.
7. Payment Before Delivery
EDM Solutions may require payment, deposit, purchase order confirmation or account approval before releasing products for delivery.
Products may not be dispatched until required payment has been received and cleared, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8. Delivery Address
The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
This may include
- Recipient name;
- Company or property name;
- Street address;
- Complex or estate details;
- Unit number where applicable;
- Contact number;
- Delivery instructions;
- Access instructions or security requirements.
EDM Solutions will not be responsible for delays, failed deliveries or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the customer.
9. Receiving Delivery
The customer or authorised representative must be available to receive the delivery.
The recipient may be required to sign for the delivery or confirm receipt.
Customers should inspect the package as soon as possible and notify EDM Solutions promptly if there are visible damages, missing items or incorrect products.
10. Failed Delivery
If delivery fails because the customer is unavailable, the address is incorrect, access is denied, security refuses entry, contact details are incorrect, or delivery instructions are incomplete, additional courier charges may apply.
EDM Solutions may require payment of additional delivery costs before arranging another delivery attempt.
11. Collection
Where collection is permitted, EDM Solutions will confirm the collection arrangement, collection point, collection time and required documentation.
Products may only be released once payment and order verification requirements have been met.
The person collecting may be required to provide proof of identity, collection authorisation, order reference or proof of payment.
12. Delivery With Installation
Where installation is included in the quotation, product delivery may be coordinated with the installation date.
In such cases, products may be brought to site by the installation team or delivered separately depending on the project requirements.
If the site is not ready on the scheduled installation date, additional costs may apply for return visits, storage, rescheduling, labour delays or additional transport.
13. Project and Bulk Deliveries
Bulk orders, estate projects, complexes, commercial sites, municipal projects and infrastructure projects may require phased delivery or scheduled supply.
EDM Solutions may coordinate delivery according to project phases, stock availability, installation schedules or agreed project timelines.
14. Risk and Responsibility
Risk in the product may pass to the customer once the product is delivered, collected, handed to a courier, installed or otherwise transferred according to the approved quotation arrangement.
Customers must keep delivered products safe, dry, secure and protected from damage, tampering, theft, water exposure, incorrect handling or unauthorised use.
15. Damaged Deliveries
If products arrive visibly damaged, the customer must notify EDM Solutions as soon as possible and provide photos of
- The outside packaging;
- The damaged area;
- The product;
- Courier label or waybill;
- Any missing or broken components.
EDM Solutions may require courier assessment, supplier assessment or return inspection before confirming the next step.
16. Missing or Incorrect Items
If an item is missing or incorrect, the customer must notify EDM Solutions promptly with the order reference, delivery note, photos and product details.
EDM Solutions will assess the issue and arrange correction where required.
17. Courier Delays
Courier delivery times may be affected by public holidays, strikes, weather, road conditions, incorrect addresses, remote delivery locations, courier network delays or events outside EDM Solutions’ control.
EDM Solutions will assist where practical but cannot guarantee courier performance once goods are with the courier.
18. Special Handling
Some products may require special handling, secure packaging, insurance, fragile handling, project delivery coordination or site-specific arrangements.
Any special handling requirements should be communicated before the quotation is finalised.
19. International Delivery
EDM Solutions currently focuses on the South African operating footprint. International or cross-border delivery is not standard and may be declined unless specifically agreed in writing.
