Water enters the meter
Cold water passes through the AquaFlow LXC in the direction indicated by the meter installation.
A smart STS split water meter that combines dual-path ultrasonic measurement, an integrated motorised ball valve, a separate customer interface unit (CIU), and optional smart communications for managed water metering.
The AquaFlow LXC is an ultrasonic smart STS split water meter for cold-water applications. It is available in 15 mm and 20 mm sizes, uses Class D ultrasonic measurement, supports horizontal or vertical installation, and combines metering, credit control and an integrated ball valve in one secure meter body.
The AquaFlow LXC measures water without moving mechanical measuring parts. In prepaid operation, the meter tracks the available STS credit and uses its integrated valve to control water supply. A separate wireless CIU lets the customer enter credit and query selected meter information, while optional Sigfox, LoRaWAN or NB-IoT communication can be selected for smart metering projects.
Follow the water, measurement, credit and customer-interface path through the system.
Cold water passes through the AquaFlow LXC in the direction indicated by the meter installation.
Dual-path transit-time ultrasonic measurement calculates water consumption without moving mechanical measuring parts.
In STS prepaid operation, purchased credit is stored and the remaining water credit is tracked in cubic metres.
The integrated motorised ball valve provides controlled disconnection and is also used by supported protection and tamper functions.
A separate wireless Customer Interface Unit is used to enter 20-digit STS credit tokens and query selected meter information.
Depending on the selected configuration, the meter can use communication modules such as Sigfox, LoRaWAN or NB-IoT for smart metering applications.
Transit-time ultrasonic technology measures water without moving mechanical measuring parts and is designed for low pressure drop and low maintenance.
Use the real product and installation visuals to understand how the meter, customer interface and smart-metering pathway fit together.
The CIU is the customer's interaction point for supported token entry, balance enquiries and meter information.
This visual supports the documented communication path shown in the technical reference below.
Use the installation image to understand the physical context in which the meter is fitted and accessed.
A meter should be selected for its application, not simply because it is prepaid.
Suitable for managed cold-water consumption where accurate measurement and prepaid control are required.
Useful for individual unit metering where customers need a separate CIU for token entry and balance information.
Suitable for small commercial cold-water applications requiring controlled consumption and reliable metering.
Ultrasonic measurement is designed to be less affected by scale, build-up and sand than traditional moving-part measurement.
Optional communication modules support configurations for AMR and AMI projects.
Use the requirements below as a practical starting point, then confirm the site-specific technical requirements before installation.
This guide explains documented functions and selection considerations. Final product suitability must be confirmed against the project requirements and the current manufacturer documentation.

Yes. The meter supports STS prepaid operation with 20-digit credit tokens. The manufacturer manual also describes configurations for post-payment, billing, flow limitation, AMR and AMI.
It uses dual-path transit-time ultrasonic measurement. The measuring system has no moving mechanical measuring parts.
The documented versions are 15 mm and 20 mm.
Yes. The manufacturer documentation states that the AquaFlow LXC can be installed horizontally or vertically.
Yes. A motorised ball valve is integrated into the meter for controlled disconnection and supported protection functions.
The separate Customer Interface Unit is used for STS token entry and for querying selected information from the paired meter.
Yes, depending on configuration. The product documentation lists Sigfox, LoRaWAN and NB-IoT communication module options.
The product data sheet lists the AquaFlow LXC meter body as IP68. The separate CIU is an indoor interface and has a different environmental rating.
The documentation describes battery alarms, dry-pipe indication, reverse-flow indication and multiple tamper conditions.
Yes. The manufacturer documentation describes the ultrasonic meter as insensitive to scale, build-up and sand and lists households, apartment buildings and small commercial premises with water-quality challenges as applications.
